Dr. Abdullah Alshememry earned his B.Pharm from King Saud University in 2011 and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada in 2018. During his graduate studies, he developed recombinant protein-based and stimulus-responsive biomaterials to target hypoxic-ischemic perinatal brain injuries. He also identified novel brain vasculature homing peptides using in-vivo phage display technology providing a promising platform for therapeutic intervention in perinatal brain injuries. During his PhD he worked as a visiting scientist at the laboratories of the National Institute for Nanotechnology, National Research Council (NINT-NRC) in Canada. Following his return to Saudi Arabia, he was appointed as an assistant professor of pharmaceutical biotechnology at college of pharmacy, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He also serves as deputy director of the Nanomedicine Research Unit, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University.
